Getting started
Open Sound, choose a practice, select a session duration, and tap Begin session. Choosing a preset alone does not start playback. Keep your device volume low at first and adjust it only to a comfortable level.
Tap End session to stop, or Cancel while audio is starting. Library lets you search practices, read their details, and save favorites. Use frequency selects a practice in Sound; you still choose when to begin.
Sound and sessions
How do I choose crystal bowls or soft chimes?
In Sound, the chakra practices, Ascension, and Water & Heart offer recorded crystal bowls. Pure tones and custom frequencies offer a steady tone. Choose Soft chimes for repeated synthesized bell notes, with an interval of 5, 10, or 15 seconds.
Choose the style before starting a session. End an active session before changing it. Sound style and chime interval are saved on your device for next time. Heart Resonance keeps its continuous pulsing tone.
Where do the crystal-bowl sounds come from?
The crystal-bowl option uses seven separate Meinl Sonic Energy Essence Solfeggio recordings, adapted by Cadus Labs LLC for tuned, normalized playback and looping. Recording and adaptation credits are in the app’s About section.
Aumiva is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meinl. The playable Bells and Soft chimes are synthesized sounds.
I cannot hear a tone.
Check both the app's volume control and your device's media volume. Confirm sound is routed to the speaker or headphones you intend to use, then end and restart the session.
Small speakers may reproduce low tones poorly, and hearing varies with pitch. Do not raise the volume to chase a tone you cannot hear. Try a comfortable mid-range tone and stop if anything feels uncomfortable.
What does the volume percentage mean?
It controls the app's audio level. It does not measure the sound pressure at your ears or guarantee a safe listening level. Your device volume, speaker or headphones, and listening duration also matter. Start softly and take breaks.
How do Ascension and session durations work?
Ascension divides the chosen total time equally among seven chakra-inspired tones, from Root at 396 Hz through Crown at 963 Hz. The current label, frequency, and body map follow the active step.
Choose a quick duration or tap More for longer choices and a whole-minute duration from 5 to 240 minutes. The displayed duration is the total session time.
Playback stopped after a call or device change.
Calls, another app's audio, or an output-device change can interrupt a session. Check the selected audio output, return to Sound, and begin a new session when ready. Unexpected changes should not be handled by raising the volume.
The chakra Bells
How do I play and record a melody?
Open Bells and tap the seven pads. Each synthesized bell uses its displayed frequency, and notes can ring together. Tap Record, play your notes, then tap Finish. Timing starts with the first note and stops at 30 seconds or 128 notes. Play replays the melody; turn on Loop before playback to repeat it. You can also play live bells over a replay.
Record saves pad frequencies and timing, not microphone audio. One melody stays on this device; finishing another recording replaces it. Nothing is uploaded or synced.
How do I stop or delete a bell melody?
Stop ends melody playback. Silence ends playback and any ringing live notes. Bells also stop when you leave their tab or the app's foreground. After returning from the background, tap Resume bells.
Clear deletes the saved melody. Undo can restore the most recently cleared melody during the current app session; that temporary copy is not restored after the app restarts. Deleting app data removes the saved melody and favorites. If a storage error appears, your new melody may remain available only in this session.
The ambient Reader
How do I allow microphone access?
In Reader, tap Start listening and allow the operating-system request. If you previously denied access, open your device's Settings, find Aumiva's microphone permission, and enable it. On Android, also check whether the system-wide microphone switch is off. Menu names vary by OS version.
Return to Reader and tap Start listening again. Sound, Bells, and Library work without microphone permission.
The Reader cannot start.
Confirm microphone access is allowed, your device has an available audio input, and no other app is exclusively using it. Stop other recording or call activity, then return to Reader and try again. Restarting Aumiva may help after an input-device change.
If the issue continues, contact us with the device model, operating-system version, and the error message.
Why is the reading different from the tone I expected?
The Reader estimates a dominant acoustic frequency. Real sounds contain multiple frequencies, and room noise, harmonics, echoes, distance, and microphone response can affect which peak appears.
For exploration, try a quiet room and a steady tone from a separate device at a comfortable volume. Aumiva switches between playback and microphone analysis; the Reader is not a calibrated frequency or sound-level meter.
When does listening stop?
Tap Stop listening, leave the Reader tab, or leave the app's foreground. Returning does not restart capture automatically. Audio is processed locally in short buffers and is never saved as a recording or uploaded.
Your library and privacy
Where are my favorites?
Save or remove a practice with its heart control. Open Library and choose the saved-favorites filter to see your selection. Favorites are stored on this device; they do not sync to an Aumiva account.
If a storage error appears, changes may remain only for the current session. Deleting app data removes favorites.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No account is needed. Tones, bells, saved melodies, practice descriptions, artwork, and microphone analysis run on the device. Visiting these support pages, opening the Cadus contact form, and downloading app updates use an internet connection.
How can I delete my information?
Remove individual favorites with their heart controls, tap Clear in Bells to delete its saved melody, or clear the app's local data through device settings where available. Deleting the app also removes local data; on iOS, offloading is different and retains app data. Manage device backups separately. There is no Aumiva account or server-side app profile.
See the privacy policy for microphone handling, backups, and optional support contact.
About the practices
Chakra positions, frequency assignments, hand positions, and geometric artwork are symbolic meditation references. Specific frequencies are not established treatments. Hand positions are optional; use a comfortable position and stop any practice that feels uncomfortable.
Cosmic Om is a synthesized 136.1 Hz tone. Heart Resonance uses a 639 Hz tone with a smooth 7.83 Hz volume rhythm; it does not reproduce Earth's electromagnetic resonance. Water & Heart is a gratitude practice and does not change water's safety or establish health benefits.
